The so-called thankless task–the task of unified service

“As long as we are together as one we will definitely win, because we are people of goodness not evil, and people of building not destruction,” Egyptian leader El-Sisi said of the recent Coptic Church bombing. …Unknown.jpeg

“God, protect us and your people from the conspiracies of the evil ones,” Coptic chief Tawadros prayed after waving incense over coffins lined up in front of the altar along with crosses made of white roses.  http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/12/sisi-suicide-bomber-cairo-church-attack-161212145751882.html

12-12-16   Palmyra Syria – Reports coming out of Russian and Syrian media sources are indicating that Russian Special Forces have been seen joining in the fight to reclaim the strategically vital city of Palmyra from the Islamic State.  Russian-led warplanes continue to pound the surrounding area of Palmyra on Monday as reinforcements from the Syria Arab Army flood into the southern city to push out Islamic State fighters in an attempt to stop what could turn into a bloody quagmire that the Assad regime and its Russian allies cannot afford.

Through sources on the ground, Syrian media out of Damascus is reporting that Russian Special Forces are playing a key role in destroying the latest ISIS offensive.  Russian SOF have purportedly been actively engaging with ISIS opposition and directing Russian flown attack helicopters as well as warplanes via target designation in the Al-Amiriyah district to include the northwest mountain range of Jabal Tar as well as the Palmyra oil and gas refineries in the east.  It is unclear whether the Russian Special Forces were already based at the Et Tifor airbase on the outskirts of the city or accompanied the tribal faction of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) known as the ‘Qalamoun Shield’ out of Damascus.  Elements of the SAA’s 11th and 18th Division along with the National Defense Force (NDF) and the ‘Shaheen Group’ or ‘Tiger Forces’ will join with the Qalamoun Shield to drive the some 4,000 Islamic State fighters out of the oil rich region of Palmyra and back into the desert.     https://sofrep.com/69849/russian-special-forces-join-syrian-arab-army-battle-palmyra-oil-fields/

Washington, D.C. – Congress has approved assistance to countries in the Middle East and North Africa seeking to stem the tide of foreign fighters to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

The provision is contained in the Fiscal Year 2017 National Defense Authorization Act. The Senate approved $619 billion measure by a vote of 92-7 on Dec. 8, and President Barack Obama is expected to sign it. The House of Representatives passed the NDAA last week.

The bill expands the authority to provide assistance not only to the governments of Jordan and Lebanon but also to those of Egypt and Tunisia.    https://sofrep.com/69761/69761/

The so-called thankless task–the task of unified service, of seeking to evoke from the multitudes a response to the Hidden One–is difficult indeed, and yet the need for those who would dedicate themselves to this calling has never been greater….The remnant who respond, who hear His voice today and desire to serve His cause, are the vanguard of the golden age….

Above all I say to every leader in the Lord’s domain, and to all who would lead or lend a helping hand to promote the plan of extending the light, be not discouraged or affected by mankind’s perfidy, by their immersion in self-deluding concepts.  Many are called but few choose.  As it was said long ago, “For every one thousand people, only one seeks me; for every one thousand who seek me, one finds me.”
