because it is inhumanely strong, in a way as yet unimaginable to the West

The Communist regime has not been overthrown in 60 years not because there has not been any struggle against it from inside, not because people docilely surrendered to it but because it is inhumanely strong, in a way as yet unimaginable to the West.  -Solzhenitsyn:  Gulag, v. 3, English trans. by H. Willetts, Harper and Row, NY, 1978, p. ix.

Of greatest importance is the new intelligence cooperation agreement between Moscow and Tehran that Patrushev nailed down during his visit. The main agenda item is a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the countries’ national security councils, which was signed this week. This is the vehicle for increased intelligence sharing between Russia and Iran and, while it will focus heavily on issues of mutual concern in the Middle East and Central Asia, Russian media reports make clear that this is the beginning of a strategic intelligence partnership.

Although Russian and Iranian intelligence, once bitter enemies, signed a limited MOU back in 2001 focusing on counterterrorism, that led to little actual cooperation. The wars in Syria and Iraq, however, have changed things. Last year, the two interior ministries agree to cooperate on police intelligence matters. Now, however, a full intelligence alliance has been agreed to.  http://20committee.com/2014/10/24/new-intelligence-cooperation-between-moscow-and-tehran/

5-30-13  Global warming alarmist John Cook, founder of skepticalscience.com, published a paper with several other global warming alarmists claiming they reviewed nearly 12,000 abstracts of studies published in the peer-reviewed climate literature.  Cook reported that he and his colleagues found that 97% of the papers that expressed a position on human-caused global warming “endorsed the consensus position that humans are causing global warming.”…  The investigative journalists (at PolularTechnology.net) found Cook and his colleagues strikingly classified papers by such prominent, vigorous skeptics as Willie Soon, Craig Idso, Nicola Scafetta, Niv Shaviv, Nils-Axel Morner and Alan Carlin as supporting the 97% consensus.  Soon stated:  “No extra comment on Cook et al. 2013 is necessary as it is not a paper aiming to help anyone understand the science.”

Dr. Tol found 7 papers falsely classified and 112 omitted     (That would make a small difference in the 97% consensus claim.  -R)

comment to the article above:   Skönhet Sanning      10-7-13  I consider myself somewhat skeptic to some aspects of AGW and 97% consensus seems unreasonable.  Not that consensus matter in the matter of Science.  Niether Wegener nor Einstein had “consensus” on their side, yet we consider their theories as very good today. Science is not about consensus, it’s about methods and proof.

In this case (global warming via CO2 from man), when 98% of the scientists in a given field share one view and 2% disagree, both viewpoints are sometimes presented in a format in which each appears equally credible.  -Al Gore:  Earth in the Balance, Houghton Mifflin, Boston, 1992, pp. 38-9                  Gore is confusing science methods with political methods.  In 11 years little has changed!!   -R.

6. Money paid to believers is 3500 times larger than that paid to skeptics (from all sources).

Cook seems to believe there are organized efforts running to confuse the public. Is that a projection of Nefarious Intent (NI) coupled with conspiratorial suggestions of mysterious campaigns?

Contributing to this ‘consensus gap’ are campaigns designed to confuse the public about the level of agreement among climate scientists.

Given that he is confused about what science is, he probably would think people are trying to confuse him when they give it to him straight.

His own personal bias means he is the wrong person to do this study (if it were worth doing in the first place, which it isn’t).

It has all the hallmarks of activist propaganda, not research. Cook tries to paint skeptics as doing it for the money, but blindly ignores the real money on the table. Governments have not only paid more than $79 billion in research, they also spend$70 billion every year subsidizing renewables (an industry which depends on researchers finding a link between carbon dioxide and catastrophic climate change). Carbon markets turn over something in the order of $170bn a year, and renewables investment amounts to a quarter of a trillion dollars. These vested interests depend entirely on a catastrophic connection — what’s the point of cutting “carbon” if carbon doesn’t cause a crisis? Against these billions, Cook thinks it’s worth mentioning a 20 year old payment of $510,000 from Western Fuels? And exactly what was Western Fuels big crime? Their primary goal was allegedly the sin of trying to ‘reposition global warming as theory (not fact)’ which as it happens, is quite true, except that technically, “global warming” is not even a theory, it’s a hypothesis, something with much less scientific weight.

Does Climate Money matter? Is a monopoly good for a market?

Do you think if you had $79 billion you could get 3896 papers published?  http://joannenova.com.au/2013/05/cooks-fallacy-97-consensus-study-is-a-marketing-ploy-some-journalists-will-fall-for/

Oh, I know full well that there are those who will say, “God is not a person.”  May I say to all that as God is a Spirit, His Spirit is omnipresent and personal to each manifestation that will receive Him. And the reflection of His gladness in their eyes, of His hopes in their hearts, of His ongoingness in their spirits is the fragrace of foreverness.   -Archeia Mary:  Pearls of Wisdom 13:50
